The binaries are still in /usr/local/texlive/2020/bin/x86_64-darwin because the distribution was designed to look for binaries there. It is an install package which reaches into the TeX Live 2020 binary directory and replaces each x86-64 binary with a universal binary with both x86-64 and arm code. The link below is for what we hope are very rare users, who have Arm machines but are running TeX Live 2020. The download includes the LocalTeX pane, documentation, and full source code. It does not modify any data used by the TeX Dist pane and works on Mavericks and above. Pane, and to select distributions installed on a thumb drive, external hard disk, or home directory. The local pane allows individual users to override the choice made for all users by the TeX Dist "TeX Dist" preference pane installed by MacTeX, which allows a user to select the active TeX distribution. The link below downloads a "LocalTeX" preference pane. Here is an install package for the Macintosh. It is based on the TeX Live "minimal scheme" for 2023. It only contains engines for Plain TeX and variants of Plain TeX, but nothing about LaTeX. Minimal TeX is a very small distribution of TeX for the Macintosh. This library is required by dvisvgm to enable certain operations, but most users will not need to install it. The version of the package linked below was released on Decemthe new version has a Custom mode which can also install the ghostscript library libgs.dylib in /usr/local/lib. The package works on macOS High Sierra and above, for Intel. Install package for this version of Ghostscript. Below is a signed and notarized Macintosh Ghostscript 9.50 was released October 15, 2019. In case of trouble, revert back to Ghostscript 9.50. The package has universal Intel and Arm binaries and works on macOS Mojave and above. Although MacTeX-2021 contains the tested version 9.53.3, the new version seems to work fine with it. Ghostscript 9.54.0 was released April 1, 2021, just as we were releasing TeX Live 2021 and MacTeX-2021. But in case of trouble, revert back to Ghostscript 9.54.0. These version has been tested for several weeks and seems to work fine with TeX Live. Ghostscript 9.55.0 was released September 27, 2021. MacTeX-2022 contains Ghostscript 9.55 because Ghostscript 9.56 was released too late in the testing period to be included. In case of trouble, revert back to Ghostscript 9.55 below. Ghostscript 9.56.1 was released April 4, 2022. In case of trouble, revert back to Ghostscript 9.56.1 below. Ghostscript 10.00 was released September 22, 2022. These extra items are not in the previous install package and must be obtained separately. One program in TeX Live, dvisvgm, uses the library libgs and an extra binary mutool.
